Iowa State. #9. player. 142. Scouting Report. PG. Pick Analysis. Tyrese Haliburton

One team that will be in competition with the Suns for a point guard is the Wizards, and they too could be looking to move up their draft position if there is someone they covet higher up.

The situation with Washington and John Wall is murky, and it is unknown how many games the injured guard will play for the Wizards in the future. There is also the possibility of a Bradley Beal trade in the offseason, which could bring in a solid veteran point guard if that is what they decide they need.

As it stands today, the starting point guard in Washington is Ish Smith who averages less than five assists per game. If the team is looking to upgrade at the point guard spot, and they have a plan to get Wall out of town, the pick at this spot could be Tyrese Haliburton from Iowa State.

The six foot five sophomore is described as a floor general, a good passer with a high IQ. Whether the Wizards decide to rebuild by starting from scratch or they keep Beal and other core players, a solid point guard prospect is always a useful aset to have. If Halibutron happens to fall to them at this spot, they’d likely consider it a victory.
