The Sacramento Kings will begin the home stretch of their season by taking on the Grizzlies tonight at 7PM inside Golden 1 Center.

It’s back! The All-Star break has finally come to a close and it has been over a week since we have seen any Sacramento Kings basketball. The break was a nice, much needed separation from the drama and disappointment that have been brought on by this underwhelming season, but the itch for pain and sorrow has returned.

The Kings will start the unofficial second half of the season with a visit from the Memphis Grizzlies, who are currently sitting in the idol 8th and final playoff spot in the brutal Western Conference.

Last 5 Meetings:

  • 12/21/19 – Grizzlies 119, Kings 115
  • 1/25/19 – Kings 99, Grizzlies 96
  • 12/21/18 – Kings 102, Grizzlies 99
  • 11/16/18 – Grizzlies 112, Kings 104

Players To Watch:

It is likely that Jabari Parker will make his Sacramento Kings debut tonight after being involved in the Dewayne Dedmon trade back on February 5th. Parker has played in just 32 games this season and not since January 3rd, so he might be rusty with his personal output. Never mind that he’ll be adjusting to new coaches, new teammates, and a new system.

Expectations are not exactly sky high for Parker, so he’ll likely get a pass as he figures things out in his new home. But the final 28 games of the season will be an audition for both Parker and for the Kings as he has a player option on his contract that can be exercised this summer. He will certainly get his chance at minutes given the Kings front court injury situation.

Prediction:

Kings get off on the right foot, suck us right back in to “So you’re telling me there’s a chance” memes:

Kings 112, Grizzlies 104
