#4. “Statement” – Black & Silver; 6-13 record

The Kings are at their second-worst when they are in a jersey that has proven to be one of the most popular. It could be because it is the uniform that is worn the most by a team that has been underwhelming at very best, or maybe it is because it was the scheme most often used during Sacramento’s dreadful 3-15 stretch.

Whatever the case may be, the Kings have a record of just 6-13 when wearing their all-blacks, which, along with purple, is the color most associated with the franchise.

Interestingly enough, the Statement uniforms proved to be the best (or most lucky) early on in the season. They didn’t wear them for the first time until their 15th game of the season, which coincided with the only point in which the Kings were competitive this season. They were a modest 2-1 in their first three games in the all-blacks, but have gone just 4-12 since.

The Kings will wear their Statement uniforms seven more times down the stretch of the season, tied for the most with the Association color scheme.

The Kings did a lot of winning back when they rarely deviated from wearing black in the early 2000s. Perhaps this year’s team can get back to their victorious ways while donning the classic Kings’ colors, and they have a change to set that tone over the last 28 games of the season.
