#4. Marvin Bagley’s Health & Happiness

The 2019-20 season has been a nightmare for Marvin Bagley for a handful of reasons, the most concerning being his inability to remain healthy. Multiple injuries have allowed him to play in just 13 games so far, and there is talk of the Kings shutting him down for the rest of the season completely.

While there are obvious mixed feelings regarding that issue, both arguments are valid, and all we can do now is wait for a report from a franchise whose reports we don’t really trust. But whether or not Bagley plays again this season, it would be beneficial to keep the second-year big man a happy camper.

Whether or not you still believe in his future, the franchise views Bagley as a cornerstone, along with De’Aaron Fox. He was drafted to play a certain role for the Kings and the team is still holding out hope that he can eventually reach his potential. For a franchise that struggles to attract free agents and has an ugly draft history, keeping a potential star happy in the California capital is a huge necessity.

The Kings need Bagley to be 100% bought in and committed to the team, and keeping him content in his current situation is the only way that that will happen. There have been plenty of reports of DMs sent to Bagley’s social media accounts, which eventually prompted him to delete his online presence altogether. (He was back online in less than a week).

There is now talk of shutting Bagley down for the season, to which there are plenty of pros and a few cons. But no matter where you stand on Marvin Bagley, treating him like a fellow human being is what you should be doing. It is absolutely not his fault that he was drafted by the Kings instead of Luka Doncic. Get out of Marvin’s DMs, and find a place to complain to Vlade Divac or Vivek Ranadive.
