#3. Remain Healthy

Before the season began, we mentioned De’Aaron Fox’s health as one of the key components to a successful season for the Sacramento Kings. While we were correct about the Kings being unsuccessful with Fox out, they haven’t exactly been successful with him, either.

Still, he is the franchise centerpiece and so much more for a team that relies on (or should rely on) his speed, quickness, and athleticism. While every summer is important for development, Fox needs to be healthy this offseason and put in a full summers work with no setbacks in order to lead the Kings to where they ultimately want to be.

Those same reasons are why shutting down Marvin Bagley for the rest of this season might be a good decision. Development is key during a lost season, but the work that gets put in over the summer is what truly defines how a player will perform the next year. The Kings would benefit greatly from having both Fox and Bagley healthy for the off-season.

While all three of these goals for De’Aaron Fox are certainly achievable, he could miss out on one because of the other: if the Kings want to keep him healthy, he might not see the number of minutes necessary to get to the 21 points per game goal.
