Kings acquire Gordon Hayward

Gordon Hayward went to the Boston Celtics as one of the most coveted small forwards in the NBA at the time. After a season-ending injury, Hayward was up in the air how he would come back and play after suffering something like that.

He played in 72 games last year, but he only starting in 18 of them averaging just over 11 ppg. This year however he has started all 32 games thus far. He has raised his averages to 17.2 ppg, 6.6 rpg, and 4.4 apg.

Gordon Hayward would replace Harrison Barnes in the starting lineup and would offer an upgrade at that position while only really sacrificing depth. Bogdanovic already has one leg out the door so this would be a great deal for the Kings.

On the outside looking in, it is ridiculous that the Kings didn’t try to acquire a big name talent at the trade deadline. They should have made one of these to make a run at the No. 8 seed. Now, we focus on riding the season out and getting to the offseason.
