Kings acquire Clint Capela

Again, we are talking about another trade for a center. This should speak to the need that the Sacramento Kings have. They don’t have anyone averaging enough boards to constitute being worth a great big man.

Clint Capela is averaging almost 14 rebounds per game. That is almost twice as much as the highest Kings’ player in rebounds per game. Imagine the second chance opportunities that would be created by a big man who can rebound.

The Kings would then waive Nene before his 2020 contract kicks in and the Kings would be liable for his contract. Hence the fact that they just want Capela but the Rockets also just as much want out of Nene’s contract.

The pick obviously would be lottery protected in case the Kings end up with a high pick in the lottery assuming they are that low. Capela would sign a long term contract at the end of the year and the Kings would be set for years to come.
