The San Antonio Spurs will travel to the California capital this evening to take on the Sacramento Kings who have won five of their last seven.

The Sacramento Kings have been on a revenge tour as of late, defeating a handful of teams that they lost to earlier in the year. The Bulls, Clippers, and Timberwolves (x2) have all fallen victim to Sacramento over the last two weeks, and the Kings will look to add another team to that list. And this one might be the sweetest.

The “beginning of the end” for Sacramento was the loss against the Knicks on December 13th, but the overtime defeat in San Antonio a week earlier may have been the real start of the tailspin. The Kings squandered a nine-point lead in the final two minutes of regulation and eventually lost in overtime. Had they held on, they would have completed a very unlikely road sweep of the three Texas teams.

That disheartening loss undoubtedly left a sour taste in the mouths of the players, and they will look to avenge it tonight at Golden 1 Center.

Players To Watch:

Bogdan Bogdanovic and Buddy Hield have both played some of their best basketball of the season since they switched roles, and the duo did not disappoint last night against Miami. Bogdanovic scored 23 points on 6 of 13 from beyond the arc, while Hield filled the stat sheet with 21 points, 7 rebounds, and 5 assists. Should they continue their hot streaks, coach Luke Walton will be applauded for a basketball-related move for the first time in a long time.
