Kings: 5 Worst Losses From First Half Of 2019-20

With the halfway mark of the season right around the corner, we look back on the worst losses of the year so far for the Sacramento Kings.

Unfortunately, this list was not easy to put together or to rank. There have been so many tough losses and blown leads by the Sacramento Kings that it is difficult to choose just five and select which ones are worse than others.

But we did our best.

#5. October 30th vs Charlotte

The Kings were having a rough start to their season, posting an 0-4 record over the first week and lacking any signs of life. But that’s nothing that a meeting with the projected worst team in the NBA can’t fix.

Or so we thought.

The Kings were ready to get off the schneid. Their losses had come at the hands of tough opponents, and the game against the Charlotte Hornets was circled as the one that would finally get them on the right track.

The Hornets came into the game with a 1-3 record, their only win coming by a point against the lowly Bulls. But second-year player Devonte’ Graham had a hot start to the season, scoring a combined 55 points in their first two games. But it was an all-around team effort that Charlotte used to ultimately beat Sacramento.

The Kings got off to a good start in the game, taking a 12-point first-quarter lead and looking like the team we all thought they could be. But the Kings were outscored 32-18 in the third quarter, thanks to the hot hands of Malik Monk, Miles Bridges, and Terry Rozier.

The lead was pushed to double digits by the start of the fourth quarter, and the Hornets never looked back. They left town with a 118-111 win, and Sacramento dropped to 0-5 on the season.

The walls began to cave in for Kings fans. Kings Twitter, as it usually is after any loss, was a total mess. People called for Luke Walton‘s job, questioned the offseason signings, and were already longing for the days of Dave Joerger.
