Should The Kings Trade For Drummond?

There are pros and cons to a possible trade for Andre Drummond. But in my opinion, the cons outweigh the pros.

If the Kings were to go after the multiple All-Star, it would likely be in the cost of including Bogdanovic in a packaged deal. For the Kings, Bogi is too valuable. He is a high IQ player that is the most versatile guy on the team. Especially with the Kings bit by the injury bug this season, Bogdan’s ability to play different roles on the squad has played a big part in why the Kings are still afloat in their mission for a postseason berth.

It would be nice for the Kings to get a player like Drummond. The man would instantly improve Sacramento’s interior and enhance the talent of their team. A deal for the star big man would also give the Kings a chance to get rid of some of their bad contracts *cough* Dewayne Dedmon *cough* to match salaries.

But if the price for Drummond means splitting ties with Bogdanovic, it should be a dealbreaker. Even though Bogi’s future with Sacramento is still up in the air, I do feel like the Kings want him to be a long-term piece in their rebuild. I believe both parties will eventually find some middle ground that keeps Bogi a King for a long time.
