The Sacramento Kings will look to get the new year started off on the right foot tonight against the visiting Memphis Grizzlies.

With the Sacramento Kings in a freefall, a change is needed, whether it be a change in the starting lineup or a change in defensive philosophy. But a change of the calendar is certainly a good start.

The Kings will begin 2020 by hosting the Memphis Grizzlies in a battle of two teams on the outside looking in. Sacramento is on an embarrassing and untimely eight-game losing streak, and the season has all but slipped away from them. But there are 48 games remaining in a long season, and crazier turnarounds have happened. Due to injuries, their core has played a very small amount of time with each other:

Buddy Hield was an ugly 3-18 from the field in the first meeting between these teams, and he will need to improve on that if the Kings have any change to finally get a victory.

Players To Watch

NBA players are prideful people. They have been winners their entire lives and are used to being victorious. Though both teams are struggling, it is the Kings who have had a small taste of NBA success with their 39-win season last year. Look for either De’Aaron Fox or Buddy Hield to exceed their scoring average in this game and get Sacramento back into the win column for the first time since December 15th.

Prediction:

Kings 120, Grizzlies 108
