The Sacramento Kings Need Dewayne Dedmon More Than Ever

Final Thoughts
With Bagley back in Sacramento’s rotation, it seemed as if the Kings were ready to make a jump up in the standings. Unfortunately, it has been the opposite.
The Kings are in a conundrum right now with their frontcourt. When putting Bagley into the game, the team has not been good, whether he is being paired with Bjelica or Holmes. The Kings could go heavy on playing Bjelica and Holmes together, but Bagley is the future of the Kings and the player with the highest ceiling amongst the team’s bigs.
This is where Dedmon falls in. The improvement of his game is essential for the Kings and their playoff hopes. If he can live up to his contract and become the ideal complement to Bagley, it gives the Kings more ammo when deciding their rotations going forward.
Even though the optimism for Dedmon is low, I think the Kings and their fans have no choice. Luke Walton needs to call on his number in future games and just pray that he can become at least adequate consistently.
If the experiment fails, that is fine. At least the Kings gave it a try. But they cannot continue to run the frontcourt rotations they are playing. The Kings have to take more risks this season if they want their postseason aspirations to become a reality, and playing Dedmon is a gamble I would take.
