Is There Hope For Dedmon?

It is a risk that could stymie the Kings’ postseason chances, but I feel it is a risk worth taking. The Kings need to put Dedmon back in the rotation.

Right now, the formula coach Walton has for his frontcourt has been terrible. Pairing Bjelica or Holmes with Bagley has not gone well and taking more minutes away from the second-year pro is a no-go either. For Bagley, Bjelica, and Holmes to all become effective, a productive Dedmon has to be part of the equation.

Base on fit, Dedmon is the perfect complementary piece to Bagley which would make for a scary tandem when both are clicking. This scenario also opens up more time for Bjelica and Holmes to play with each other and make Walton’s rotations simpler and more successful.

I know that Dedmon has been the opposite of great for the Kings, but there is hope that he could turn his season around. The man has been in the NBA for over six years where he has been a serviceable big for multiple teams. Maybe a little more time with his teammates will get him more comfortable and figure it out?
