The Sacramento Kings Need Dewayne Dedmon More Than Ever

Dedmon Has Been A Bust
When the Kings announced that they sign Dedmon last summer, the fanbase was ecstatic. During his days with the Atlanta Hawks, Dedmon was known for his energy, rim-protecting ability, and his ability to space the floor as a center. Based on his personnel, he was the perfect fit for what the Kings were looking for in a starting center.
Since the regular season started, Dedmon has not been good. His on-court chemistry with the team has been off as he has been disappointing on both ends of the court. For a player that was expected to average around 10 points and eight rebounds a game, while making 35-40% of his three-pointers, he is currently averaging five points and four rebounds a night while making 23% of his three-pointers.
I’ll save you the time by saying the per-36 numbers are not any better.
As a result, Dedmon slowly but surely has gone from being the Kings’ opening-day starting center to now a bench player who has not seen any playing time in the last six games.
