The Sacramento Kings’ problems with their frontcourt have hurt them in their chase for the playoffs. But it can all be solved if Dewayne Dedmon lives up to his contract.

The 2019-20 campaign for the Sacramento Kings has been an unpredictable one. All havoc broke loose in the first month of the season when the team was winless and Marvin Bagley went down with a thumb injury. Then De’Aaron Fox sprained his ankle and the aspirations of making the playoffs instantly plummeted.

But through all the turmoil, the Kings remained relevant. Even without their two most talented players on the court, the team was competitive as they now stand at a record of 12-15, giving them the eighth seed in the Western Conference. Now with Bagley and Fox healthy enough to play, what could go wrong? Well, we are talking about the Kings here. Nothing can go right for them.

It seems like the Kings should be better now that they have their full roster intact, but that has not been the case. There are several reasons why the purple and white have struggled recently, but the main issue has to do with their frontcourt.

Ironically, the frontcourt for Sacramento played a key part in why they remained competitive when Bagley and Fox were out. The starting duo of Nemanja Bjelica and Richaun Holmes was a sight to see as their skillsets meshed perfectly. But now that Bagley is back with the team, the frontcourt has been stagnant.
