Another Piece To The Young Core

After Willie Cauley-Stein left the Sacramento Kings this summer, the team had no idea what to do with the starting center spot going forward. Sure, they added Dewayne Dedmon but he was never going to be a long-term piece. Harry Giles was another option, but his health remained unreliable. It seemed like finding a good starting center for the future was going to be another objective for the Kings during their rebuild, but luckily, they stumbled upon Richaun Holmes.

When the Kings signed Holmes last summer, the thought was that he would at the most be the Kings’ backup center. In just five games, he already surpassed that.

Since being a member of the Kings, Holmes has been a force on both ends of the floor. Offensively, he is a guy that can finish in the paint and defensively is a great rebounder and rim protector. He is a relentless energy guy that the Kings ideally need at the center position and has produced how Kings fans hoped Cauley-Stein would have during his time in Sacramento.

With the rise of Holmes, it seems like the Kings have found their center of the future. The Kings and their fans love Richaun. Richaun and his family love the Kings. Therefore, I foresee both parties eventually agreeing on a deal that keeps Ricahun in purple for a long time.
