The Sacramento Kings will travel to Southern California tonight to take on the Los Angeles Lakers at the Staples Center

Friday night’s game between the Sacramento Kings and Los Angeles Lakers features two teams that are headed in opposite directions.

After enduring a season full of struggles and injuries, the new-look Lakers come into the contest with the second-best record in the NBA. Their only losses have come against the defending champion Toronto Raptors and revamped Clippers on opening night. The Lakers are a little banged up, but their two superstars should be a full-go for Friday’s game.

The Kings have won 4 out of their last 5 games and find themselves just a couple of games out of the 8th and final playoff spot in the Western Conference. But they just lost their most important player for at least a month (probably two) will play against the two best teams in the NBA this weekend.

Here’s what you need to know about tonight’s contest:

Players To Watch:

The Kings are going to have their hands full with the frontcourt of the Lakers. Davis is a top-ten NBA talent and guarding him alone would be a daunting task. Throw in the size and athleticism of Javale McGee and Dwight Howard and suddenly the Lakers become almost unguardable.

Oh yeah, and LeBron James plays nearly 30% of his minutes at power forward.
