The Sacramento Kings played well in their loss to the Toronto Raptors. But a lot of opportunities were missed by the purple and white.
The month of November has been kind to the Sacramento Kings. After starting out the season with a 0-5 record, they have turned the ship around as they won their first two games of the month.
Unfortunately, the Kings were unable to extend their winning streak to three. The purple and white traveled to Toronto to face off against the defending champion Raptors. The Kings were able to play well as the game was close throughout four quarters, but in the end, Toronto made more plays and came out on top.
There were a lot of encouraging signs from the Kings in this game. The team shot the ball well overall, they won the third quarter (WOW!), and showed encouraging fight and endurance against a good team.
But at the end of the day, the performance remains a loss. The Kings now fall to 2-6 which keeps them in the basement of the NBA standings.
Moral Victories Do Not Count
It is great that the Kings look to be bouncing back from their nightmarish October, but this team needs to start racking in the wins. Entering the season, a lot of noise came from the organization about this year basically being playoffs or bust.
Right now, they are on pace to win just over 20 games. That is unacceptable considering the promise they showed last season.
Yes, the Kings played an entertaining game against the Raptors, but they had to leave that game disappointed. There were a lot of opportunities for the Kings to finish the game with the win. Open shots were missed, careless turnovers were made, and that defense is still terrible.
Hopefully, the purple and white are able to clean up what they did wrong yesterday and keep the positives they had going. Their next match will be against the Atlanta Hawks this Friday, and I do not think any fan this time will be encouraged if the Kings end that game with an L.
