Player #3: Richaun Holmes

In just five games, Richaun Holmes was able to receive the love from Sacramento Kings fans. With Harry Giles still out injured and Dewayne Dedmon having a horrific start to the season, the Kings turned to Holmes for assistance at the center position. So far, the decision was arguably their best move in the early season.

In every game during the month, Holmes was efficient in his role which was to get rebounds, protect the rim, and play with relentless energy. In the five matches he played in October, he averaged around 11 points, seven rebounds, and two blocks a game. As a starter, those numbers increased to 14, seven, and two.

The Kings and their community were in a dark place to begin the season, but within that darkness, Holmes was a shining light that gave Kings fans hope. The team hoped that Willie Cauley-Stein would be their long-term center in the rebuild, but instead, it is Holmes that has taken the reigns and has been balling.

Everything that the fans wanted Cauley-Stein to be is what Holmes is now. At least at the center position, the Kings are in a better place compared to last season. Holmes is happy, the fans are happy. Everyone loves Richaun Holmes!
