We highlight the top plays of the young Sacramento Kings season.
While the 2-5 record that the Sacramento Kings possess is nothing to be excited about, there have been plenty of electrifying plays during the first two weeks of the season. Point guard De’Aaron Fox is a human highlight reel, and newcomer Richaun Holmes has had his high-flying athleticism on display. Together, they make up all five of the top Kings plays thus far.
Honorable Mention:
While it wasn’t as electrifying as the other plays on our list, Harrison Barnes’ game-winning put-back layup sealed a huge victory for Sacramento. In fitting fashion, it was a hustle play that finally got the Kings into the win column after an unenthusiastic 0-5 start.
#5: Circus Layup
Early in the first quarter of the Kings’ game against the Jazz, Fox converted an off-balance, 180-degree over-the-head layup and got fouled in the process.

#4: Holmes Poster v1.0
Holmes had his coming out party in the loss to the Denver Nuggets, scoring 24 points and grabbing 13 rebounds. His highlight reel from that game is insane, and it was all kicked off with this posterizing dunk on Mason Plumlee.
#3 Holmes Poster v2.0
The second of Holmes’ poster dunks came at the expense of Will Barton, which was equally, if not more impressive as the one on Plumlee. This dunk came in crunch time with less than a minute left on the clock and the Kings down five, keeping Sacramento within reach of the lead.

#2 Windy In New York City
Our runner-up play was one that put the exclamation point on the Kings’ second victory of the season. Fox picked the pocket of RJ Barrett and took off, finishing the play with an emphatic windmill dunk that drew oohs and aahs from what was left of the Madison Square Garden crowd.
#1. Fox. Blox.
The top play of the last two weeks was Fox’s impressive chase-down block on Allonzo Trier. Fox used his blazing speed to catch up with Trier after gambling on a steal attempt, swatting the layup and denying the Knicks the chance to cut into the lead late in the fourth quarter.
The Kings have two games left on their current three-game road trip. They will play the Raptors on Wednesday, followed by the Hawks on Friday.
