Reason #2: Harry Is A Game Changer
Based on how the Kings have performed in the early season, there is no doubt that they still lack the talent to be a shoo-in for the playoffs. But once Giles gets the thumbs up to play again, he has the chance to instantly improve the team.
Like I mentioned before, the problem with Giles is not his skill set but rather his health. As a player, Giles is incredibly talented. He is a player that has proven to be super versatile and bright when on the court which gives the team more opportunities to be creative and flexible when setting up lineups on their depth chart.
He has only shown a small sample size with the Kings so far, but during that time, there have been flashes here and there of him potentially becoming a player similar to Chris Webber. A big man that can score and make plays in a variety of ways while disrupting his opponents on the defensive end.
If Giles can get healthy and show promise this season, he can take the Kings’ rebuild to the next level. The Kings already have young guys like De’Aaron Fox and Marvin Bagley who are on the rise, so imagine if they can finally get Giles going?
The collective talent of the Kings would be scary for future years to come and Vlade would have to re-sign Harry to a long-term deal.
