Sacramento Kings: Player Analysis Through First 6 Games
By Gurjus Singh
Harrison Barnes’ Pros
Harrison Barnes is one of those players that is seen as the third or fourth option on the team. He has been seen as exactly that on the Kings. He is averaging around 13 points per game and shooting around 50% from the floor.
When the Kings’ offense has become stagnant, Barnes has provided the Kings with easy baskets by cutting to the paint where his teammates find him open. He also can outmuscle his opponents in the interior.
Harrison also does well in help in the rebounding department where he can get second-chance points when needed. One example of this was when the team played the Utah Jazz in which Harrison got the game-winning putback basket.
Cons
Right now, Harrison is struggling with his perimeter game. He is only making around 29% of his shots from the area which is a big dip compared to when he made around 40% last season. Another area at which he can improve on is when he is looking to score. He tries to do too much and ends up turning the ball over or causing an offensive foul.
On these types of plays, he needs to be more aware of his surroundings and try to look for other teammates to score rather than himself.
