Q6: What Is The Best Crunch Time Lineup?

Nunes – “The closing lineup is going to change from night-to-night, but I see four players being close to locks: De’Aaron Fox, Buddy Hield, Harrison Barnes, and Marvin Bagley. The final starter very likely could be in the game to close, and that would be my guess as the usual closing lineup, but there is an argument to be made for Bogdanovic in for his offense and Bagley playing the five. I just don’t think that leaves sufficient interior defense in the closing minutes.”

Kobler – “De’Aaron Fox – Buddy Hield – Bogdan Bogdanovic – Harrison Barnes – Marvin Bagley. Yes, it’s a small lineup, but all five of these guys can get a bucket and stretch the floor, making creation an easy task. Bogdanovic or Fox can run a pick-and-roll with Bagley and put defenders in jail while making them decide if hedging the screen hard is the right option or letting them pull up from the free-throw line with an uncontested jumper. Buddy buckets is Buddy buckets.”
