Q10:  Will Any King Receive Any Honors? (All-Star, MIP, All-Defense, etc)

Ritter – “Unlikely, although if De’Aaron Fox has a nice-sized leap and the Kings look legitimate in January, it’s not out of the realm of possibility that the coaches could select him for the Western All-Stars.  However, even though the Kings have improved, they aren’t yet at the level where their individual talents start getting recognized for national awards.  Dark horse: if Buddy flourishes in the Walton system and starts averaging 26, 27 points a game, he would be an easy contender for Most Improved Player.”

Nunes – “Bogdan Bogdanovic will be the 6th Man of the Year. He has had a healthy offseason and may have been the best player in the FIBA tournament. He could be closing games at times and is already growing great chemistry with Richuan Holmes, a la Lou Williams and Montrzel Harrell.”

Singh – “Fox and Buddy are the most likely players to win awards, but Fox has the higher edge to become an all-star this year. I think for Buddy Hield he has more of a chance to be Most-Improved Player if he becomes the go-to guy for the Kings this season and also shows that he can be more than just a player who plays off the ball. If Buddy can show that his handles have improved I think he will certainly win this award.”
