The Sacramento Kings are on a mission to make the playoffs this season. But which players on the team may not last the entire campaign with the purple and white? Three candidates pop into my mind.
The Sacramento Kings are under two weeks away from beginning their 2019-20 season. Unlike previous years, the purple and white are entering this campaign with hefty expectations. After finishing last year with a record of 39-43, the highest record since the 2007-08 year, the goal now is to finally break their notorious 13-year postseason drought. Any type of finish short of that would make this season a bust.
The main reason why the Kings have high expectations now is because of their roster. The team currently has a great group of young talent to build around while having veteran role players that can complement the team’s youth.
If everyone on the Kings can live up to their expectations, then the team should be a serious candidate to make the playoffs this year despite them being in the stacked Western Conference. But even though the Kings do have a roster good enough to make a playoff berth, it most likely will change as the season progresses.
For the last few years, the Kings have made at least one personnel decision that caused teammates within the locker room to say farewell to one of their own, and I believe that will repeat itself this year.
To me, here are three players that I think could be traded before the 2019-20 season ends.
