Fox’s Tier

So who is on par with De’Aaron Fox? These guys are emerging as NBA stars, some of whom have a few accolades that put them in this tier.

D’Angelo Russell finished just ahead of Fox in Most Improved Player voting last season and earned his first all-star game appearance, albeit in a much weaker Eastern Conference. Russell is now a part of the elite franchise of this decade, having joined the Warriors in the offseason.

Kemba Walker has been one of the more under-appreciated point guards in the league for a few years, and now will get his chance to be in the spotlight after leaving Charlotte for Boston. He averaged over 25 points and nearly 6 assists last season and earned his third all-star appearance.

It can be argued that Fox should be in a tier above Jamal Murray, as Murray has little to no hardware, though the two put up similar statistics. But Murray is the primary ball-handler for what could be a top-3 team in the Western Conference, and should blossom even more in his fourth season.

Sure, Ben Simmons lacks a jump shot, but he is a statistical monster and has an all-star game under his belt. Like Fox, Simmons has only played in two full seasons and has a lot of expanding to do on his game. Don’t be surprised if in a few years there is a Fox vs. Simmons battle for NBA point guard supremacy.
