PGs Behind Fox

This group consists of players who have declined from their days as elite point guards, have not yet established themselves as elite point guards, or just don’t have the physical tools and potential that Fox possesses.

One of the toughest decisions in this tier is Chris Paul. By most measures, Paul is one of the best point guards in the history of the NBA. His numbers have declined slightly over the past few years, which can be attributed to both his age (34) as well as his previous situation alongside James Harden. Paul finds himself in a new situation in Oklahoma City, and we are unsure what to make of Paul and the rest of his career at this point.

John Wall’s skill set is similar to Fox’s, but due to injury, Wall hasn’t played in an NBA game since December 26, 2018 and likely won’t play at all during the upcoming season. Some consider Trae Young to be in the same tier as Fox, and some rank him even higher, but his sample size is too small for us to be putting him in any elite categories.

Jrue Holiday just enjoyed his best statistical season and is one of the better players on a promising Pelicans squad, but does not yet have the resume to bump him up in to the next tier. Mike Conley is also coming off of a great statistical season and finds himself running point for a Utah Jazz team that looks to make a lot of noise this season. But Conley will be 32 years of age when the season starts and his best years are likely behind him.
