As ESPN keeps counting down their top 100 players in the NBA, the list now includes Sacramento Kings’ youngster Marvin Bagley III.

Before the 2019-20 NBA season begins, ESPN is listing down who they think are the top 100 players currently in the NBA.

In a recent article, ESPN shows the public who is ranked between 51-100. On the list, the first member of the Sacramento Kings to show up was Bogdan Bogdanovic who was ranked 74th. Not too long after that, Marvin Bagley III’s name popped up at 69th.

According to Kevin Pelton, who wrote the analysis on Bagley, he believes how the 20-year old performs in the next t=hree seasons will greatly impact how the Kings’ rebuild turns out. He also sees Bagley playing some time at the center position due to how Luke Walton utilized Julius Randle when both were with the Los Angeles Lakers.

Final Thoughts On The Rankings

Honestly, I was shocked that ESPN ranked Bagley so high. Not to say that he does not deserve that spot on the list, but rather that the national media has been very critical of the Sacramento Kings for the last couple of years, so giving such high praise to one of their young talents is a pleasant surprise.

To me, Bagley deserves to be on the list of top 100 players in the NBA. In his rookie year, he was a stat monster, while given limited minutes, as he averaged around 15 points and eight rebounds a game coming off the bench.

Hopefully, if he gets the chance to start games, Bagley will elevate his game even higher to help increase the Kings’ chances of breaking their 13-year postseason drought.
