When getting enshrined into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame, Sacramento Kings’ legend Vlade Divac talked about the impact basketball gave him.
This year, Sacramento Kings‘ legend Vlade Divac was selected to be enshrined into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame, joining an elite group of people who have been affiliated with the sport of basketball.
Not too long ago, the process was complete as Divac is now a Hall of Famer and gave his enshrinement speech.
Nothing new happened during Divac’s speech, he was himself and talked about what the game of basketball meant to him. Some key points that I noticed in his speech were when he talked about how being unselfish was significant in the success he had while being a player.
Vlade also mentioned how the sport gave Divac and previous teammates a strong and unbreakable bond. And oh yeah, Chris Webber and Peja Stojakovic were present at the ceremony.
Final Thoughts
Overall, Divac gave a great speech during his enshrinement ceremony and made the Sacramento Kings community proud again.
Before Divac became a King, the franchise did not win much during their time in Sacramento. But with the help of Vlade, they became a championship contender. Vlade was not the best player during the Kings’ glory days but was the glue of the team that kept everyone intact. Without Vlade, the Kings would not have been as good as they were in the late 1990s to early 2000s.
Congratulations on the accolade, Vlade. We hope you continue to make the people in the Kings community proud!
