Sacramento Kings: 3 Ways For Harry Giles To Break Out
By Rafe Wong
Goal #2: Extend Is Scoring Range
Not only is Harry a great athlete, but he has a great skill set for a player at his position. There are very few things that Harry is unable to do on the basketball floor. The guy can score in the interior, has a solid jump shot, has good on-court awareness, and is even one of the best passers on the roster.
Yes, Harry has a versatile skill set which can make him a weapon for the Kings. But he needs to be more consistent if he wants to become anything special. One aspect of his game that he needs to work on is his jump shot.
Although Harry has a smooth jumper, he was not efficient in scoring the ball last year. Most of his scoring came when he was in the interior posting up against his opponents or being the beneficiary on fastbreak points.
Harry has the potential to be a good shooter even around the three-point line. So developing a reliable midrange shot is a doable task for him and would help the Kings’ offense immensely. Being able to make shots at the midrange area will make Giles a duo-threat scorer. Fans know that he can handle his own in the paint, but a solid jumper will take his offensive game to another level.
