Goal #1: Be A Defensive Asset

One of Harry Giles’ best qualities on the court is his physicality. Even though he is considered an undersized player, it did not faze him from being someone who is down to bump his opponents around on both ends of the court, especially on the defensive end.

Last season, Giles showed he can give his opponents fits on defense with his physicality and athleticism which few guys did on the purple and white. I think striving to become a great defender for the Sacramento Kings will give Harry his niche with the squad. He has the physical tools to be an elite defender and he showcased the motivation last season to be efficient as well.

Plus, Harry has gained some serious muscle this summer which could be a nightmare for any opponent that has the assignment of handling him in games.

The Kings do have some good defenders on their team, but not many of them come from the team’s young core. For Harry to prove to Vlade Divac and company that he deserves to be part of the franchise’s young core of players, he should make defense a main focus this season and beyond.
