This season is important for Harry Giles if he wants to remain a big part in the Sacramento Kings’ plans. So what are three ways for the young big to have a breakout year?

The 2019-20 NBA season is a pivotal one in the Sacramento Kings’ rebuild. After the purple and white finished last year with a record of 39-43, they are looking to keep their gradual pattern of improvement going forward. Not only do the Kings want to be better this season, but make the playoffs for the first time in 13 years.

For the Kings to achieve their hefty goal, a lot needs to go right. But most importantly, they need their young players to keep making strides in their developments.

One player that could help accelerate the Kings’ rebuild is Harry Giles. For the last few years, Giles has experienced multiple injuries to his knees which have prevented him from reaching his extremely high ceiling. But now that the 21-year old is healthy, he can finally show the world why he was a former #1 high-school prospect.

After playing a full season of NBA basketball, Giles showed flashes of his potential but was nowhere near consistent enough to be an asset. This year has to be different for the Kings and Giles due to both having lofty expectations for themselves. The time to be patient is over and now it is time to showcase convincing results.

With that being said, what does Harry need to do to have himself a breakout season? To me, there are three things he can do to help the Kings increase their chances for a playoff berth.
