Sacramento Kings: Harrison Barnes & USA Get Knocked Out By France
By Rafe Wong
With Team USA losing in the quarterfinals against France, it now means the Sacramento Kings’ time in the 2019 FIBA World Cup is almost over.
A lot of upsets have happened in the recent nights of the FIBA World Cup. First, it was Serbia who lost to Argentina by a score of 97-87. And recently, it was the United States, defending World Cup champs, who lost to France by a score of 89-79.
With this lost for Team USA, it will be the first time the country will leave the World Cup being placed outside the top three spots since the 2002 tournament.
Harrison’s Rough Night
With Team USA unable to advance in the tournament, it means Harrison Barnes‘ World Cup tenure is almost over. In the six games he played for his country, he averaged around 10 points, four rebounds, and one assist per contest while he made around 56% of his shots from the floor.
Barnes no doubt had his worst game of the tournament recently against France as he only recorded four points and four assists in the 32 minutes he played.
Kings Will Unite In Final Game
Although no one on the Sacramento Kings will receive a World Cup medal this year, there will still be one more game left to watch for Kings fans. With both Serbia and the USA being knocked out in the quarterfinals, it now sets both teams to play each other in the fifth-place match.
Harrison Barnes against Bogdan Bogdanovic and Nemanja Bjelica.
For some basketball fans, they still got their dream game to watch. Many believed that Serbia and the USA were two of the top teams entering the tournament, and now, they will face off in what should be a great game to witness. Too bad the stakes of the game are just a fifth-place finish.
Hopefully, this game will be an exciting one to watch and that the three Sacramento Kings make their countries and their franchise proud.
