Sacramento Kings: Harrison Barnes Solid Against Greece & Brazil
By Gurjus Singh
Let us catch up with Sacramento Kings’ forward Harrison Barnes in his latest two games at the FIBA World Cup.
In Team USA’s latest matchups against Greece and Brazil, Harrison Barnes quietly scored a combined total of 19 points. Fans also got to see the matchup against a former Kings player in Bruno Caboclo who has been a bright spot for the Brazilian team.
Barnes Makes Plays Against Greece
For Barnes, he did provide some dunks in the game against Greece. On one play he did a behind-the-back dribble and beat out the defender to the rim for the dunk! During the game, he also showed some defense by taking a charge against Giannis Antetokounmpo.
Barnes was later involved in a play in which he was fouled hard and Team USA had some debate about it afterward. He ended up making the And-1 Dunk against Thanasis Antetokounmpo, but the bigger problem was injury-risk to Kings fans.
Barnes Scores 10 Against Brazil
Against Brazil, Barnes shot 50% from the field on six shot attempts. He shot a smooth three-pointer and also made a great play cutting to the basket for the easy dunk! With the USA winning the game, they now officially qualify for the Olympics as well as advances to quarterfinals!
Final Thoughts
His numbers may not be flashy, but Harrison Barnes is having himself a solid campaign in the World Cup. In the five games he has played in, he is averaging around 11 points and five rebounds per game while making around 48% of his shots from the floor.
The next time Barnes will take the floor with Team USA is when the team will face off against France in the quarterfinals. Hopefully, Barnes continues to be an asset as well as remain healthy.
