FINAL THOUGHTS

The jury is still out on Vlade Divac and his ability to be a successful GM in the NBA. The good thing for him and for the Kings is that he still has plenty of time to prove himself.

He is not on the hot seat, having built this young and promising core himself. He signed a handful of free agents this summer that look and seem to fit the Kings style of play and their timeline perfectly. We will have to wait until the regular season starts to begin to make any judgments on his Divac’s latest moves.

We can definitively say, however, that Vlade Divac does not deserve the harsh criticism that still follows him. They say that first impressions last a lifetime, and he left quite a terrible taste in the fans mouth with the 76ers trade to kick off his front-office career.

But he has made up for it. He has the Kings in great position, with a new regime and new culture in place, and it took him just two and a half years to do it.
