Sacramento Kings’ Serbian Players Continue To Roll In World Cup
By Rafe Wong
During the FIBA World Cup, two players from the Sacramento Kings are representing the country Serbia. And to no surprise, both have been rolling when on the court.
Most players from the Sacramento Kings are resting and getting themselves ready for the upcoming 2019-20 NBA season. But for some, they are currently representing their home countries as they are competing in the FIBA World Cup.
For the Sacramento Kings, four of their guys are in the tournament. Harrison Barnes is representing the United States, Cory Joseph is on the Canadian team, and Bogdan Bogdanovic and Nemanja Bjelica are on the Serbian team.
Not too long ago, Serbia played against the Philippines in their group match, and to no surprise, Serbia dominated.
Kings Duo Stand Out
The final score of the game was 126-67 as Serbia led in every quarter. Top players from the team were Bogdanovic who scored 17 points and dished out five assists, Nikola Jokin who scored 11 points and grabbed seven rebounds, and Nemanja Bjelica who scored 20 points and made 100% of his shots from the court. A semi-efficient game from Belly.
Final Thoughts
Going into the World Cup, Serbia was one of the teams that were favorites to win the tournament. So far, they are supporting that notion as they have won their first two contests comfortably.
If the Serbian team can win the World Cup, it would be huge for their country. Not only would it be huge for Serbia, but also for the Kings due to the organization currently having two players on their roster representing the team.
Hopefully, Bogi and Belly continue to put up big games and represent both their country and the Kings well.
