August and September are notoriously slow months in the NBA offseason, but there are a handful of Sacramento Kings players to keep an eye on in the upcoming FIBA World Cup.

Two weeks ago, it looked as though the Sacramento Kings were going to be the most well-represented NBA team in the 2019 FIBA World Cup. The unexpected departures of De’Aaron Fox and Marvin Bagley III from Team USA left just one King on the roster, but there are a handful of others participating for their home countries.

Playing for their home country in a tournament like the FIBA World Cup almost always benefits a player. Playing with a new set of teammates, being on the world stage, and being led by some of the best coaches that their country has to offer usually gets a player off on the correct foot for basketball season.

This year, there are more than 50 NBA players that are on international rosters. The NBA MVP will play for Team Greece, and the guy who finished fourth in MVP voting will be Serbia’s most important player. Germany, France, Serbia, and Australia have five NBA players each on their rosters.

By our count, Sacramento is still the NBA franchise with the most players participating in this years’ tournament, despite the departures of Fox and Bagley.

So which Kings are playing?

We know that Harrison Barnes is playing for Team USA, so we will summarize the foreign-born Kings that will be playing in Beijing starting on August 31st.
