Sacramento Kings: Predicting The Second Unit For The 2019-20 Season

First Off The Bench: Harry Giles
After having a so-so rookie season, Harry Giles is not ready to be a starter for the Kings. But with that said, he did show flashes of his potential throughout last year that have Kings fans excited for his future.
Right now, Giles should be the backup center for the Kings to start the season due to Dewayne Dedmon being a more reliable option at this moment. But if Giles can make strides in his development, he will be a weapon for the Kings.
When analyzing Giles’ skillset, he has it all. Scoring wise, he has an arsenal of moves to utilize in the paint and can extend his game with his midrange shot. Giles also is a gifted passer which will open up a lot more opportunities for the Kings to score with their already electric offense. And lastly, Giles is a pesky player on the defensive end which will give his opponents fits when playing against him.
This upcoming season will be huge for Harry Giles. He can become a core piece of the Kings’ rebuild. But whether he can showcase his potential more consistently is the question that still needs to be answered?
Other Option: Richaun Holmes
Probably my favorite signing that the Kings made this summer. Although Richaun Holmes may not be a star player, he is a guy that knows his role and knows how to play it well.
With Holmes, it adds another rebounder and rim protector to the Kings roster. And last year, the Kings needed a player like that. Not only does Holmes rebound and defend well, but he has a relentless motor that will for sure make him a fan favorite for the Kings this season.
To start the year, Holmes should be the team’s third-string big man. But I believe he has the chance to make his way up on the depth chart if given opportunities to showcase his worth.
