With De’Aaron Fox attracting many people within the NBA world, he has earned another fan in media member Bill Simmons.

This offseason has been fun for the Sacramento Kings, but especially for their point guard in De’Aaron Fox.

In the last couple of months, Fox has been impressing many people whether it has been being very intelligent and articulate in interviews or outplaying his opponents on the basketball court.

Let us talk about Fox’s play on the court. Right now, in suprising fashion, the 21-year old point guard is on the cusp of sealing a roster spot for the upcoming FIBA World Cup.

Although Fox’s rise might be a surprise to many, it was not for Bill Simmons from The Ringer.

Bill Simmons Said What?

In a recent podcast episode of The Bill Simmons Show, Simmons does a Q&A to begin the show. One question asked was who Simmons thought would be the NBA’s best point guard in five years, and his answer was the Kings’ facilitator.

"“Fox to me is like the old-school point guard that combines a lot of different guys that I like. There’s some Westbrook athleticism with him, there is some Chris Paul run-the-game, doesn’t really care about stats. I think he’s incredibly unselfish and is just an awesome teammate.” -Bill Simmons on De’Aaron Fox’s future"

In my opinion, there is a good chance that Simmons’ prediction is correct. If Simmons does end up being accurate, the days of constantly losing will be over for the Kings and their fans soon enough.

After having a so-so rookie season, Fox emerged into one of the most exciting young stars that the NBA has to offer. And now that it seems he is due for another leap of improvement going into his third year, it makes this upcoming season even more exciting for the Kings.

De’Aaron Fox looks to be the real deal. And if he can play at that level in the forthcoming campaign, he will help make the Kings a serious contender to make the playoffs.
