What should Justin James improve on going forward?

Like most rookies, Justin James should stay in the weight room and get stronger to be able to get through bigger guards like James Harden and Klay Thompson on offense and to be able to not constantly get beat by them on defense.

The low shooting percentage from three is pretty alarming coming out of his senior year. He needs to show that he can be a reliable shooter with more attempts. In summer league, he only shot an average of two three-pointers per game and only converted 27% of his shots from the area.

James does seem to have a smooth release, and his release reminds me a lot of Klay Thompson. But with that being said, if he wants to get the same production as Klay, he needs to continue to increase his shooting percentage and become more consistent.

Overall, Justin James is a project in the making, but there is hope that he can be an asset for the Kings as soon as this season. Throughout his short tenure with the team, he has shown flashes of the type of player he can be. But it is all about how often he can provide that production at the NBA level.
