With Team USA currently in training camp, did De’Aaron Fox already do enough to earn a spot on the team’s World Cup roster?

This summer has been busy for De’Aaron Fox as he has appeared on multiple television shows, been featured in YouTube videos, and of course, has been in the gym improving his game.

It seems like Fox has made great strides on the court as he has already been making a great impression working out with Team USA’s basketball team.

De’Aaron Is Climbing His Way Up

A while back, it was announced that Fox would join teammate Marvin Bagley III on Team USA’s select team. Then once camp came around, Fox got promoted to join the first-team roster with the chance of actually joining the team to play in the upcoming FIBA World Cup.

Well, after a few days of camp, it seems like Fox has done enough to earn himself a spot on the team. According to Marc Stein, NBA Insider, it is not official yet but it looks like Fox will be playing in the FIBA World Cup with Team USA.

Final Thoughts

If the report is true, this is a tremendous opportunity for De’Aaron Fox. After having a spectacular sophomore season, the NBA world started to recognize how great the Sacramento point guard could be.

As a result, Fox got invited to work out with Team USA and now has forced the program’s coaches to have him on the roster for the World Cup.

If both Fox and Harrison Barnes can earn a spot on the World Cup roster, that would mean two players on the Sacramento Kings will represent the United States in the tournament.
