Small Forward: Harrison Barnes

Since the Sacramento Kings and Rudy Gay parted ways in 2017, the team has been on the look for their starting small forward for the future. There have been a few failed attempts along the way, but it seems like that hole has been filled this summer.

Back in February, the Kings traded for Harrison Barnes from the Dallas Mavericks to see how he would fit in with the team. It was only for 28 games, but Barnes found his niche with the purple and white as he averaged around 14 points and six rebounds a contest while he made 46% of his shots from the court, 41% from beyond the arc, and 80% from the free-throw line.

As a result of Barnes’ 28-game tryout with the Kings, it convinced Vlade Divac and company enough to sign the seven-year veteran to a four-year deal worth around 85$ million.

If that does not prove that the Kings are serious about making Barnes their starting small forward for the long haul, I do not know what does?
