While many NBA players are training or vacationing during their offseason, Sacramento Kings’ big Caleb Swanigan was busy working on earning his college degree.

This summer has been a busy one for the Sacramento Kings. In the last month, the team has acquired four new players, have three members of their team invited to join Team USA’s camp, and many of them have been grinding in the gym as they work on their craft.

Add Caleb Swanigan to the list of many Kings who have improved this summer. But for Swanigan, his improvement came outside the basketball court.

Swanigan Gets His Degree!

Not too long ago, the Kings’ Instagram account posted a picture of Swanigan at his graduation ceremony at Purdue University. Purdue’s Twitter account also posted the picture of Swanigan while congratulating the former Boilermaker for being an All-American both on the court and classroom.

Final Thoughts

Back in February, the Kings took the chance on Swanigan when they traded away Skal Labissiere to the Portland Trail Blazers in exchange for the former Purdue player.

Caleb’s time with the Kings has not been long yet, but he has the capability of becoming a solid piece to the team’s roster. With his combination of size and ability to rebound the ball, he could be an asset for the Kings’ interior down the road.

Since coming to Sacramento, Swanigan has only appeared in three games. During that span, he averaged around three points, four rebounds, and one assist in 11 minutes of play.

Congratulations on the academic honor, Caleb! We hope you been having a great summer both on and off the court!
