Sacramento Kings: 3 Candidates For Most Improved Next Season
By Rafe Wong
Player #2: Marvin Bagley III
If Marvin Bagley III does have a breakout year this season, the NBA better watch out for him and the Sacramento Kings.
During his rookie year, Bagley surprised most people in the NBA community with his play. There were some assumptions that Bagley would be a project in the making due to how raw he was as a player. But instead, the 19-year old ended up finishing his campaign averaging around 15 points and eight rebounds a contest. He also made 50% of his total shots from the floor and 69% of his shots from the charity stripe.
What made Bagley such a force last year was the rate of improvement he showed as the season went on. It felt like every game Marvin was able to improve on at least one aspect of the game which ended up turning him into a double-double machine late in the year. And oh yeah, he did all of that while playing limited minutes.
Even though Marvin had himself a great rookie season, the sky is the limit for him. If he continues the rate of improvement that he showcased last year, he could not only be the most improved player on the Kings but in the NBA.
