Many Sacramento Kings fans scratched their heads after a recent release of the player ratings for NBA 2K20. But a minor change might have them feeling a little better about the results.
The Sacramento Kings were a pleasant surprise during the 2018-19 season. A team that was projected to win around 25 games last year ended up winning 39 times which had them only one spot away from competing in the playoffs.
A lot contributed towards the Kings’ success last season, but the main reason was the rise of the team’s young talent. Guys like De’Aaron Fox, Buddy Hield, Marvin Bagley III, and more were able to make leaps of improvement which accelerated the rebuilding process for the purple and white.
Kings Get Poor Ratings
With the Kings as a collective whole considered a team on the rise, it was expected that their ranking on the video game NBA 2K20 would be much higher than previous years.
Unfortunately, not too long ago, the ratings for some of the Kings players were lower than expected, which had many fans irate. But a recent tweak to the ratings might have some Kings fanatics feeling better.
Fox Gets More Respect
It is unofficial, but De’Aaron Fox’s rating in the game increased. Before the speedy point guard was ranked an 83 but now is an 86 in the game.
Right now, Fox is the only player that rating was changed by NBA 2K. But once the game gets closer to its release date, I do believe more ratings will be changed throughout the league.
Final Thoughts
For the longest time, the Kings have been the joke of the NBA and a team that got little to zero respect throughout the NBA world. Last season, however, the Kings were on a mission to change that as their play made them competitive against any of their counterparts.
Hopefully, the Kings continue their pattern of improvement. If so, the team will slowly, but surely, gain more respect around the league and become the type of team Vlade Divac envisions them being soon.
