Final Thoughts

Even though the Oklahoma City Thunder now become a better team with the decision to keep Chris Paul for at least part of their 2019-20 campaign, I do not think it will make much of an impact towards the Sacramento Kings’ hunt for a playoff berth.

The games might be more competitive between the two clubs, but in terms of how both teams will finish the regular season, I still think Sacramento will end up ahead of Oklahoma City in the standings.

For the Kings, next season is a pivotal stage in their rebuild. After finishing last season just one spot away from competing in the playoffs, the team now has the aspirations to finally break the franchise’s postseason drought that has haunted them for 13 long years.

This offseason, the Kings were successful in finding veteran role players that have the potential to cater to the team’s young core flawlessly. If everything goes right, there is no doubt that the Kings at the very least will be making noise for a playoff spot in the late stages of the regular season.
