With the Oklahoma City Thunder and Chris Paul deciding to ride out the 2019-20 season together, how does this impact the Sacramento Kings’ chances for a playoff berth?

With this NBA offseason containing so many news bombshells, 14-year point guard Chris Paul may arguably have been part in the biggest headline of them all.

With the Houston Rockets and Oklahoma City Thunder making the shocking decision to swap their starting facilitators in Russell Westbrook and Chris Paul, it now has Westbrook with the Rockets and Paul with the Thunder.

Once the news came out that the trade was complete, it was speculated that the Thunder would try to trade Paul to another team so the All-Star facilitator can pursue the next stage of his career with a legit playoff contender.

But after a few days of rumors hitting the NBA surface, both the Thunder and Paul have agreed to play out the beginning stages of the 2019-20 season together and address possible trade options in the future.

Now that it looks like Paul will be the Thunder’s starting point guard to begin the upcoming season, it does make Oklahoma City a more competitive team. Even though Paul is past his prime.

With the Sacramento Kings in pursuit to finally break their 13-year playoff drought this next season, will the decision by Chris Paul make the objective harder for the purple and white? Are the Thunder now considered a better team than the Kings?
