#7: Golden State Warriors

The Golden State Warriors are coming off a nightmare season, to their standards. In the pursuit for their third straight NBA championship, fourth in five years, the team was plagued by injuries in the postseason which resulted in their NBA Finals exit to the Toronto Raptors in six games.

Now that Kevin Durant is gone and Klay Thomspon reported to be out for the majority of next season, I think the Warriors will take a seat back. The signing of All-Star D’Angelo Russell helped endure the blow of losing Durant, but with that said, Russell is still nowhere near the level that KD is at this point in his career.

Even though the Warriors will be shorthanded for most of their 2019-20 campaign, I still think they will make the playoffs behind the play of Stephen Curry and Russell. Curry is still the best shooter in the game and the system that the Warriors have will make them a dangerous offensive team.

Plus, the team was able to pick up players like Willie Cauley-Stein, Alec Burks, and Glenn Robinson III. If all are able to play up to their potential, which the Warriors’ system has the capability of helping them do so, they will be solid assets for the team.
