Sacramento Kings End Summer League Campaign With A Flop

The Sacramento Kings ended their Las Vegas campaign with an overtime loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers.
The Sacramento Kings’ summer league campaign in Las Vegas was up and down. It started on a high note as the purple and white were able to win their first two games, their opponents being the Chinese National Team and Dallas Mavericks.
But since then, they were not able to win as they lost their last three games, the most recent one against the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Due to Sacramento having a record of 2-2, it was not enough for them to be placed in the actually Vegas tournament. Instead, the purple and white were placed in the consolation round against the Cavs.
Game Summary
The Kings started out the contest great as they took a comfortable lead in the first quarter and actually led the contest throughout the majority of the match.
But the Cavaliers hung in there and remained within striking distance. In the later stages of the game, Cleveland was able to rally back behind the stellar 33-point performance by Malik Newman to eventually win in overtime.
Top performers for Sacramento were Eric Mika who scored 15 points and grabbed seven rebounds, BJ Johnson who scored 20 points, and Brandon Ashley who scored 18 points and grabbed 12 rebounds.
Final Thoughts
Well, that is it in terms of summer league play. The Kings ended their Las Vegas outing with a record of 2-3 and their total summer league season with a record of 3-5. The next time the purple and white will hit the court will be in the Fall when they begin preseason play for their 2019-20 season.
