The Sacramento Kings and Harrison Barnes are both pleased that he will be back in California’s capital for four more years.

When Harrison Barnes opted to become an unrestricted free agent this summer, there were concerns whether the Sacramento Kings were going to lose their starting small forward. But based on how the relationship has gone between both parties, a separation was never going to happen.

Not too long ago, Barnes and the Kings agreed on a deal worth $85 million over a duration of four years, and a couple of days ago was the first time Barnes talked to the media about his decision.

The Night The Kings Won Harrison Over

During the interview, Barnes talked about how the Kings and their fans impressed him ever since he joined the franchise. He also mentioned his first game wearing a Kings uniforms when the purple and white played against the Miami Heat in the middle of the season.

The way Barnes’ new teammates treated him as well as how crazy the fans got during that night made a great impression on him and led to the seven-year veteran to eventually stay with the organization long term.

Final Thoughts

Harrison Barnes is projected to be with the Sacramento Kings for four more seasons, and it is safe to say that both parties are happy with the commitment.

Last year, Barnes was able to be an asset for the Kings on both ends of the floor while being a great veteran mentor for the youngsters on the squad. Hopefully, he continues to be as impactful as he was last season. If so, the Kings are in great shape to finally break their playoff drought next year.
